Today we're going to talk about what is a .44 magnum. A 44 Magnum, as you can see by the .44 Magnum Desert Eagle, is a very, very powerful round. Magnum designation comes from a, originally a .44 was a regular round, and what they did was they made it a little bigger, with a little more gunpowder to get more velocity, more [starting] power, hence the Magnum designation.

Several bullets come in Magnum sizes such as the .44 Magnum, and the .357 Magnum.

There is also .22 Magnum rifle cartridges which are a little bit bigger and longer than a typical .22. But for our purposes the .44 Magnum is a little bit larger, a little bit more powerful than a regular .44 round, which you don't see very often anyway. It has incredible firing and stopping power, as evidenced by the .44 Magnum Desert Eagle which is one of the more powerful guns in existence. And that's a little bit about what a .44 Magnum is.
