Hey guys, my name Katie Chrest Erbe and I'm joined by Liz Kittleman Jackson and Katie Jackson of GameDay Lacrosse and I'm here to talk about how to throw a long pass. There's a couple of very important keys when you're wanting to throw a pass further down the field. And some of those key components, if you'll notice when Liz throws the ball her arms are up away from her body rather than being in tight and this allows her to really use both motions and gives her the full range of motion on her stick. So, her hands are out and away from her body, okay?
Versus if she were to bring her stick head really close in and just be pushing with her top hand. You want to be using both hands when you're throwing a long pass. The other thing you'll notice is how much she's using her body. So, she's going to start with her hips side on to Kaitlyn, she's going to step with her opposite foot and really drive those hips around as she throws the ball to Kaitlyn. Those are two of the biggest things that you can do if you want to be successful at making a long pass
