Baby Food Safety Guidelines

There are a couple of precautions you should take when it comes to food safety when preparing your own baby foods at home. They are all very simple and easy to follow. When you are preparing food I encourage you to use fresh as much as possible, fresh or frozen. When you are using canned goods, you want to make sure the cans are not expired. Check the date.

If they are dented or damaged in any capacity definitely discard them and don't use them. With frozen produce, obviously check the expiration date as well and then with dairy products be mindful of the expiration date, but also don't serve your child anything that is unpasteurized. When you are reheated your baby's food you should also be mindful that you can only reheat it one time.

So any of the food that they do not have when the food has been reheated you should discard so there is no risk of bacterial growth. Aside from those few food safety precautions everything else is perfectly fine when preparing your own baby food at home.
