Find out the best age to have your first face-lift in this Howcast video featuring plastic surgeon Robert J. Morin, M.D..

Transcript

We're discussing the best age to have a first face lift. In general a well-performed face lift should last for approximately 10 years. The real answer to the question of when to get anything done in plastic surgery is when you want it done.

There's no good age. There are certainly times that people walk into my office and say, " I want a face-lift," and I have to remind them that they are in their 20's and that just doesn't make any sense. That being said, an older person who has extra skin and the descent of the facial soft tissue could certainly benefit from a face-lift. So, there's certainly no age, face-lifts can be performed on 40 year-olds, 50 year-olds, 60 year-olds, even up until people in their 80's.

It's really a patient preference and there's no specific age, but just like anything else in plastic surgery, if something bothers you and we have a safe, reasonable way to address it, then a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would be happy to help you in any way that he or she can.
