Let me talk a little bit about accelerated or intensive potty training.

Accelerated or intensive potty training is exactly that. It's intense full-time potty training, what it means is spending the full day in the bathroom with lots of opportunities for your child to be successful. During intensive potty training, your child will be sitting on the potty every 5 minutes for up to 10 minutes. When she's off the potty, she'll be wearing her underwear; when she's on the potty, you'll be talking about what she gets when she goes pee in the potty, "Remember, when you go pee in the potty you can have some frosting as a reward!"

So intensive or accelerated potty training truly is full-time training. Once your child wakes up in the morning, you go into the bathroom and you'll spend the day in the bathroom playing, having fun, but also learning to use the potty. When your child is ready for bed, she will still wear her underwear, but you'll put a pull-up over it in case of an accident, and then when she wakes up the next day, she'll be ready for more potty training. You're going to continue the process until she's having very infrequent accidents and she's self-initiating to the potty.

So that's accelerated or intensive potty training. It can work for kids of all ages and of all abilities.
