Hi. I'm Natalia Rose, and today we're going to talk about how to prepare fruits and vegetables for a juice fast. Well, there are five basic things you need to keep in mind. The first thing, is that you want to procure the highest quality fruits and vegetables for your juice fast. No GMO, no pesticides, organic all the way. The second thing to do, is just give them a good clean rinse. The third thing you want to keep in mind is that, there's no need to peel the vegetables before putting them through the juicer. In fact, don't even worry about peeling carrots, or if you're using lemons, don't even worry about cutting the rind off the lemon. You can put these, the fruits and vegetables, into the juicer whole unpeeled.
Now, the third thing you want to know is how wide is the mouth of your juicer? So you'll just have to cut the vegetables down, in order to fit through the mouth of the juicer. Some juicers are so large, that you can put a whole apple, and a whole lemon through easily. Others require more cutting before putting them through the juicer. Don't be overly concerned with peeling your produce, before juicing it. As long as it's organic, you don't need to remove the peel. Now, while I'd love to put the lemon in whole, without removing the peel, some people find that it's too intense a flavor. If you love that flavor, you're going to love the lemon in whole. If you don't love that flavor, then you'll want to peel the lemon before you put it through.
What I find extremely helpful is, once you get the vegetables washed, place them in batches so that you have your vegetables for that specific day, or for that specific juice ready to go. You can just put them all into one zip lock, and each zip lock can represent a day of juicing, or one juice.
