Let's Play Final Fantasy XIII-2 Part 5 - Winding Way [HD]

Vince traverses the Winding Way in FFXIII-2, the RPG from Square Enix and tri-Ace.


Serah: What? The monster turned into crystal.

Mog: Servant of time. Daughter of Chaos. Unto the world unseen, the untamed you guide.

Noel: Huh, What do you know? It talks.

Serah: What do you mean? Guide the untamed?

Mog: Your power of the monsters, Kupo.

Serah: Over monsters?

Noel: Now that you mention it. Lightning had monsters fighting with her in battle.

Mog: You can do the same, Kupo.

Serah: Okay. This power, can you show me how it works? I want to learn how to protect myself. Might as well start now.

Mog: Kupo!

Player: And now we reach the Pokemon part. I'm going to skip that tutorial. This Spiceacillian, we got back in O3AF, he's a late blooming ravager and he's apparently magical and delectable. Here's a late blooming Medic, he's hexproof and calm. And this scandroid which is a great word, is a well-grown ravager that's thunderproof and standard. I guess I'll go with the scandroid to start, but I also want a Medic around. Okay, so after messing around with this a bit, I've arranged my paradigms from roughly, most offensive to the most defensive given what I have so far and we'll give that a try. Alive!

Serah: What just happened?

Noel: It looks like we're getting overlap from another reality. Atlas has disappeared into another world or another time, I guess.

Player: Where are you at? Where are you at? What is that?

Mog: Now! Now!

Player: I got this. All right, here we go.

Serah: Make the switch. Let's do this!

Player: So it appears the monsters only have one role each

Serah: We did it!

Player: And they'll hop in and out automatically depending on what paradigm you've got selected. It looks like we've got a T in the road here. So let's consult our map. Humm, I wonder is there's anyway we could get back over here. No, it doesn't look like it. Maybe in another time. That's probably where that comes in.

Serah: Now's my chance! Soran. Go, go, go! Stop it!

Player: All right, we get a potion here.

Noel: Another gate, uh. It figures.

Serah: And we need an artifact to open it. Right?

Noel: Right? The key is something that doesn't belong...

Player: Um, two healers. This could be tricky. Look like we could stagger them and get aggressive. Wow, he's practically dead anyway. Well, he died before I got to execute my master plan, so...

Mog: Kupo!

Noel: We can't activate the portal without the key First we have to figure out what open this gate.

Serah: Hum, maybe Atlas.

Player: Wouldn't Atlas be the key?

Noel: Bingo! I heard legends that people from centuries past were responsible for building him, But that was in my past. It's still years ahead of this present. My guess is that he's a weapon from your future.

Serah: So Atlas definitely doesn't belong in this time. If we can stop him then maybe we'll find the artifact we need.

Player: That's a pretty good guess.

Noel: Maybe. It's worth a shot a least.

Mog: Kupo!

Chester: Exploring are we? Might want to be careful in here, someone spotted a Cie'th in one of the tunnels, deeper in the ruins. We haven't seen a Cie'th on Cocoon for several years now. There's definitely something spooky going on here. I hope someone takes care of it soon.

Player: Ahh. Okay, I guess.

Chester: You think you can handle one of those monsters? Maybe you should just leave it to the soldiers.

Player: I'll be fine.

Chester: A creature like that shouldn't even be here. With the paradox effect thrown in, there's no telling what is't capable of. Watch you step and be ready for anything.

Captain: Sorry, I cant deal with you right now. I'm in the middle of a crisis here. One of my men lost an experimental drug that our unit was testing. It's a reaction enhancing substance. The kind of things civilians shouldn't be playing around with.

Player: Oh, let me guess. You want me to find it for you.

Captain: If the substance was stolen, there's where it will end up. We have to retrieve it immediately.

Player: Great!

Captain: You'll help us search for the capsule? We could certainly use an extra hand or two. We're missing two capsules. They look just like ordinary medicine. If you find them, bring them directly to me.

Player: So we've got a little quest hub area here.

Chocolina: Choco-boco-lina! Welcome, get you traveling products here at Chocolina's emporium. The beauty's all mine, but the products can be yours. But only if you show me the money. This might be a once in a lifetime Choco-mazing opportunity, so don't miss out!

Serah: Um, Hi there. I'm a little overwhelmed and slightly confused to be honest. So you run a shop?

Player: Indeed she does. What have you found? What are you reacting to? What's over here?

Guard: We had some supply stations around here, but then they sort of disappeared. Probably another paradox side-effect.

Mog: Leave it to me, Kupo!

Player: Ah, okay. So we hit right bumper around here and we see something kind of fishy. It's a little dark but you can see this globe bouncing up and down.

Mog: Come on, Kupo! Come back Kupo!

Player: What have we got here? A wild artifact. Does that open this gate?

Serah: Nothing's happening.

Player: Nope.

Serah: Something there Kupo?

Player: Where you going? Where you going? Ah ha.

Serah: Come on Kupo!

Player: Well we went left, Steve and I, during the let's play of the demo so I think I'm going to go right this time. Hey, there's one of the capsules. Let's do it. Let's get this Cait Sith out of the way first. Die! Oh, no. Real bad [inaudible 00:09:14]. Let's switch to something with healing.

Serah: Now.

Noel: Now way!

Player: Oh no! My Monster died.

Noel: I'm in trouble.

Player: Noel's about to go down too. Well at least we got a crystal out of it.
